AVTRW 50th Anniversary Meeting

The Association for Veterinary Teaching and Research Work (AVTRW) 50th Anniversary annual meeting will be held at University College Dublin on 7th October 2016.

 

High profile international keynote speakers:

 Professor Louise Cosby, AFBI, NI ‘Challenges of Current Virus Threats to Animal Health and Strategies for Prevention and Control’ [Sponsor BSAS].

 Professor Peter Nettleton, Moredun, UK, '50 Years of Virology: from Arboviruses to Zika going Viral' [Sponsor DAFM].

 Professor Martin Greene, Nottingham, UK ‘Udders and Uncertainty: Adventures in the Control of Bovine Mastitis' [Sponsor AVTRW UK].

 

In association with Veterinary Ireland, this joint Ireland & UK AVTRW conference will feature talks on veterinary education and cutting edge developments in animal health and veterinary research.

The scientific programme will reflect new developments in veterinary science across the island of Ireland including AFBI, Teagasc, Animal Health Ireland, DAFM, UCD and TCD. CVE points will also be available for registered veterinary surgeons.

 

Abstract submissions from young and early stage career researchers and AVTRW UK are particularly encourage and this year AVTRW will be sponsoring a number of bursaries, based on abstracts, to help such researchers attend the event.

Registration will consist of AVTRW annual membership fee of €32 (lunch and refreshments included), payable on the day. Attendance is free for existing members and students.
