Genetically Modified Vaccines

Since Jenner discovered cowpox could be used to prevent smallpox, vaccines have saved millions of lives and billions of pounds. New genetically modified vaccines hold exciting possibilities,
with the potential to eradicate diseases, allergies and certain cancers in a cheaper and more effective way. Infection specialist Andrew Pollard and vaccinologists Adrian Hill and Bryan Charleston discuss the importance of vaccines in animals and humans and the pros and cons of recent research.

 

The UK Veterinary Vaccinology Network, The Jenner Institute and The Pirbright Institute will also be at the festival all week with an interactive display on vaccinology and deadly diseases.
