Poultry Health Services
Studying infectious diseases, mostly bacterial and parasitic, in the natural target hosts to inform development of control measures.
Real name:
I qualified as a vet at the University of Bristol in 2010, followed my an MSc by research in veterinary parasitology. I then spent the next 10 years (PhD, followed by core postdoctoral position) at the Roslin Institue, University of Edinburgh, studying bacterial and parasitic infections of farm animals, with a heavy focus on chickens. Currently I work for Poultry Health Services, as a poultry veterinarian. I retain a keen interest in research and the application of novel developments in infectious disease control in the field.
