I am a PhD student working between The Pirbright Institute and The Jenner Institute, University of Oxford. I have a BSc in Microbiology with Virology from the University of Leeds (2013) and an MSc in Control of Infectious Diseases from London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (2014).
My PhD project focuses on the epidemiology of Rift Valley fever vaccination in livestock in Kenya. I will analyse the seroprevalence of RVFV across Kenya to assess the burden of disease in livestock and humans; conduct a vaccine trial comparing the immune responses in livestock vaccinated with the commercial Smithburn vaccine and a novel viral vector vaccine ChAdOx1 which will lead into mathematical modelling the field impact of these vaccines to aid RVFV control policy and public health in Kenya.
I also coordinate the BBSRC UK Veterinary Vaccinology Network.
