Vaccinology Career Development Workshop

The One Day Workshop hosted on 27th October at the Moredun Institute, Edinburgh will include a range of presentations focusing on Career Development in Veterinary Vaccinology, providing complementary perspectives from funders and successful grant winners in Veterinary Vaccinology.

This workshop is designed to educate and provide skills for early career researchers to develop their careers within vaccinology. 

Co-hosted by Professor Gary Entrican at the Moredun Institute.

' A field Veterinarian's perspective on Veterinary Vaccinology' Jennie Batt, Larkmead Veterinary Group Ltd.

'How to write a grant' Professor Tom Wileman, University of East Anglia

How to write a grant panel discussion

'How to win a grant - a funding bodies perspective' Dr Alexandra Spittle, BBSRC

'Wellcome Trust Funding Oppertunities' Dr Matt Thakur, The Wellcome Trust

Speed Networking - a chance to discuss your research and hear from other early career researchers.

Who can apply?

Early Career Researchers including those in final year of their PhD or equivalent, or who are early-career postdoctoral scientists (Awarded their PhD for less than 10 years).

Applications to participate in the workshop should be submitted electronically to enquiries@vetvaccnet.ac.uk  by Monday 31st August 5pm, UK GMT

Applications should consist of:

A brief summary of on-going research interests (Maximum one page)
Institute Affiliation

Travel expenses (UK only) and workshop costs will be met by the Veterinary Vaccinology Network
