An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Centre for Tropical Livestock Genetics and Health (CTLGH) as a Communications and Knowledge Exchange Officer.
CTLGH is a collaborative partnership of the University of Edinburgh (acting through the Roslin Institute), Scotland’s Rural College (SRUC) and The International Livestock Research Institute (ILBI). It focuses on enhancing livestock-based livelihoods by improving livestock productivity and resilience in tropical climates. The post will be located at the Roslin Institute, but the postholder will have the opportunity to visit CTLGH partner organisations and attend national and international meetings.
The successful candidate will have a track record of planning, leading and implementing strategic communications initiatives, preferably in a research and international development environment. They will form an essential part of the CTLGH core team, working with existing research and capacity-building programmes to refine and develop communication platforms and materials. They will also establish effective working relationships with relevant funders and sponsors, including the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, DfID and the BBSRC.
