The Biotechnology and Biosciences Research Council (BBSRC) have funded three high-value, long-term research projects totalling £13.9M.
The three projects include the potential to produce cheap and effective vaccines for poultry, develop plants that can make their own fertiliser and creat new ways to breed elite lines of wheat.
These grants are funded through BBSRC's sLOLA programme: Strategic Longer and Larger grants scheme which provides world-leading research teams with five year fundings and resources to address major challenges.
Professor Brendan Wren, London School of Tropical Medicine has been funded £5, 724, 037 for research on Glycoengineering of Veterinary Vaccines.
Professor Brendan Wren will be speaking on his research regarding glycoengineering of Veterinary Vaccines at the UK Veterinary Vaccinology Network Conference 2016, hosted in Manchester 5th - 6th January 2016.
