Mordun are seeking a postdoctoral research scientist with experience in parasitological techniques to join a highly motivated and productive team of scientists.
The successful candidate will work on an NC3Rs-supported,3 year project to develop a novel, high welfare technology to evaluate poultry red mite interventions in hens and will:
- Optimise an in vivo feeding device to allow multiple stages of mites to feed for short periods
- Determine the effects of hen age on the use of this technology
- Determine the effects of the technology on hen welfare
- Prepare vaccines by immunoaffinity techniques
- Employ the optimised feeding devices in a vaccine efficacy study
- Engage with funders, academic and industry stakeholders to disseminate the findings and demonstrate the impact in the context of NC3Rs principles.
The candidate will require a high level of flexibility and excellent communication skills to co-ordinate activities and report on progress.
