Real name:
My group is currently involved in research on avian paramyxoviruses (Newcastle disease virus, NDV). We are trying to make genetic manipulation of NDV in a way it expresses immunogenic proteins at significantly higher levels. Such candidate is not only valuable for recombinant vaccines against NDV but also against other avian viruses, owing to its use as vaccine vector. Moreover, we are working on fundamental avian immunology to better characterized immune responses against vaccines and filed infections against poultry viruses. Our main focus remains to map T and B cell epitopes on avian viruses to exploit this knowledge for both protection against vaccines and immune induction perspectives.
