Andrew Broadbent
Currently I am a Research Fellow at The Pirbright Institute, where I am setting up a research program looking at Infectious Bursal Disease Virus (IBDV), with a focus on the molecular-cell biology of infection, host-pathogen interactions, pathogenesis of disease, and the development of novel vaccines.
Prior to my position at Pirbright, I was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the US, researching viral pathogenesis and vaccine development for avian, swine and human influenza viruses, and the MERS-coronavirus. I hold a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Cambridge, a Masters degree from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), and a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from Imperial College London.
