Edinburgh Infectious Diseases
The individual members of Edinburgh Infectious Diseases belong to seven organizations: University of Edinburgh, The Roslin Institute at University of Edinburgh, Moredun
Research Institute, NHS Lothian, Scotland’s Rural College (SRuC), Scottish National
Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) and Napier University. The multidisciplinary
expertise and interactions of the members of Edinburgh Infectious Diseases are shown in
the diagram below:
Of particular relevance to the BBSRC UK Veterinary Vaccinology Network is the
immunological expertise that is applied to the prevention and control of animal and

Edinburgh Infectious Diseases brings together a number of organizations across Edinburgh to create strength in infectious disease science that can be harnessed for concerted and collaborative multidisciplinary research. Edinburgh Infectious Diseases undertakes a variety of knowledge-exchange and networking activities that include scientific symposia, workshops, outreach activity and internet profile. A Vaccine workshop was held in October 2014, bringing together researchers on human and animal diseases. Membership of the BBSRC UK Veterinary Vaccinology Network would provide a communication route to the scientists and organizations that are part of Edinburgh Infectious Diseases.
