The Biosciences KTN remit is to help drive the conversion of bioscience knowledge into innovative agricultural, food and industrial bioscience products and processes, by helping people access partners, expertise and funding to successfully innovate. Our network comprises >5,000 individual members from commercial and research organisations working to apply biosciences knowledge, including many in leading organisations involved in animal health (including both multi-nationals and SMEs), animal breeding, and animal production who are relevant to this Network.
We would be happy to participate in a range of relevant activities as required. In particular, we may be able to help with the following: i) industry engagement, including helping to identify industry’s priorities, and encouraging their involvement in the network; ii) Linkage into other relevant initiatives e.g. we are closely involved with Technology Strategy Board activity such as the Sustainable Agriculture and Food Innovation Platform, and the BBSRC Animal Health Research Club, as well as European activity such as the European Forum of Farm Animal Breeders; iii) Facilitating new research collaborations, particularly involving industry; iv) Identifying relevant funding opportunities for research projects, and for commercial exploitation; v) Promoting and disseminating the Network’s activity to our members.
