Isaac Silwamba
Isaac is a Vet - surgeon currently studying towards a Master of science in Epidemiology at University of Zambia where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2017. He was fortunate enough to complete his Internship under the mentorship of Dr. E. Oparaocha at Showground veterinary clinic, one of Zambia’s finest, and he now works as a research assistant at the University of Zambia. Whilst at University as an undergraduate, Isaac received several prestigious awards for academic excellence including; Best graduate in clinical practice; Best graduate in Surgery; Best student in Epidemiology. Isaac has always enjoyed research and he now combines two of his favorite things – his love for animals with research. His broad research interest is in vaccinology, particularly understanding the influence of immunogenetic diversity on immunological responses. At present, Isaac is investigating diversity of the Major Histocompatibility Complex I and II of cattle breeds native to Zambia under a project linked to Roslin Institute in the UK
