Poultry, including vaccine and vaccination research and field experience
Studying the epidemiology, immunopathogenesis, diagnosis and control of poultry respiratory infectious diseases. Mainly focusing on avian infectious bronchitis virus, Newcastle disease virus and avian metapneumovirus. Other pathogens of interest are infectious laryngotracheitis virus, LPAI H9N2, Mycoplasma synoviae, and Mycoplasma gallisepticum. Research emphasis on improving laboratory diagnosis of these pathogens and use of live and inactivated vaccines through strategic vaccination programmes and monitoring their efficacy, under experimental and field conditions.
